My Leupold RX-600 has done me well. Been wanting to upgrade to the RX -1200i just for the extra distance even though I do not plan on shooting past 400. I know a lot of folks are using the rangefinding binoculars. I would go that route but already have high dollar binocs and can not justify getting a new pair.

Oh, and it has the True Ballistic Range for the steep shots.

I was set on getting a Leica. But after one of my good friends had one stop working after two seasons, like a refused to honor the warranty. I am Not sure how often this happens but to me it was a red flag, however I do believe they are the best rangefinder and not much more money than the others. With that said I opted for the vortex Ranger. I used it this year on a mule deer hunt in Eastern Oregon and it works great. There is some talk about the warranty for the vortex rangefinder. I talk to a rep from vortex and he assured me that it has the same lifetime warranty as the rest of their products. I also think that Leopold is it good choice I would stay away from Bushnell

Depends on your budget and how you want to use it.

I have one of the bino/RF combo that I really like. First I am a rifle hunter only and wanted to carry one set of optics. My wife bought me a Swaro combo several years ago that has served me well. It has met all my expectations and needs. Optics are crystal clear and RFs out to 1000 yds and more. I have never had any problems with it altho it can use batteries if you use it a lot, so I always carry a couple of spares.

Not sure their warrantee states, but I thought Leica was fair with me. I have an old 800 yard model, 10+ years old, maybe more. Still works great, but I compared it's readings to two other RF's, found out it reads a bit short. Emailed Leica to see what the cost to correct would be, they said too old to consider repairs, but I can send it in and get a new 1,000 for 350 or the 1,600 for 450. Seemed pretty fair to me. Don't think you can go wrong with any of the brands mentioned so far. If I did not have this offer from Leica, I'd probably get the new Leupold 1,200.

I have an older leica, really nice and works well. I just got a leupold rx-100 tbr. I like it. I don't know if the quality is the same as the leica, but no regrets on the leupold.

I have both the Leica 1000 and the vortex 1000 and I would buy the Leica a thousand times again over the vortex. I can only get the vortex to range 600 yards at its max and the Leica I've gotten it to range close to 1200 on a good large target. Spend the money on a good range finder it's worth every penny

Leica. I have had the crf 1600 for 3 years and this thing is great. Accurate and consistent. I think the Leica range finders have the lowest (best) beam divergence of everything under $1000.

I bought a Leupold 2 years ago,

I was between Leupold and Vortex, I liked the leica I think but was out of my price range, after handling the vortex, I quickly liked the leupold.

It's funny how sometimes you read up on stuff and think, oh I'm going with brand A, and then you handle it and hate it.

After this falls antelope hunt my wife and I realized we couldn't estimate range in the field worth a dang. I found a Leupold RX-600 in like new condition for $100 in a local pawnshop. Would prefer a Leica, but this one seems reliable out as far as we have any business shooting.

One more thing off the list.
