I found this picture from another sight- I believe it is 5+ years old but I love it. Which one of these guys would you shoot?

My favorite is the second from the right....I love the way huge thirds look.

Also, for those of you seasoned at judging elk, what do you think that one would score? Obviously a tough angle but I'm guessing him to be around 360".

WOW..... presently only one (smallest) is giving a decent shot.
4 are looking back so I better decide quick...........

I agree with the one most everyone is picking at first glance but he looks smaller bodied than the closest.
Not the winner on length but I feel like I'm seeing double when looking at points!
Second from the right and I won't be second guessing.
Top left and bottom right better not be the first to turn sideways either.

What do I know though?
(My wife would say pick the fattest)

Hey Hilltop, can you post the gps coord?? Please?? I hope I have the same choices this year!!! Great Photo!!God bless
Let me shoot one with big thirds first and then I'll take bids for the remaining bulls...lol. This was actually an old picture on another forum from 2009. I was looking up different field judging methods that people use and found this pic. I have a blue chip elk permit in Wyoming this year so I'm stuffing my mind with images of bulls I should and shouldn't harvest opening morning.

Hilltop,

Thanks for posting that pic. BTW, I'm sure that the camera's location function was disabled before the photo was taken.

I hope to be looking over similar bulls in less than one month.

For some reason, I have a sentimental association of majestic, regal elk to the iconic image of the untamed American west and the rugged men who tamed it. While rugged and fearless men might have tame the American west, they never were able to come close to taming majestic, regal Rocky Mountain elk. They are the rulers of the Rockies.
