What is your budget?

What ranges do you plan to shoot?

Will you be shooting to Maximum Point Blank Range (MPBR) or further?

If further, do you prefer using the reticle to compensate for drop, or dials?

Also, Welcome to Eastmans' Forum!

For the caliber of rifle and what you are planning on doing with it, I would go with BB's recommendation of the Vortex Viper. Vortex puts out exceptionally good products for the $. Its a little over your range but I don't think you will be disappointed. Very good optics! Good luck!

K...up your budget or wait...I put a vx-3 on my 300ultra...and it is worth every penny...sighted it in once 4 years ago this spring...you can get the reticle for it and dials...for not much more.

All my Leupolds have gone through quite a torture test! Just seeing all the nicks on the edge of the eye piece on my vxii that has never been knocked off of zero from any of them would prob sell Leupold alot of scopes!

Leupold IMO. My hunting partner shoots 300 win mag and he loves it. I shoot 7mm mag and 338 ultra mag and I also have Leupold on both of them and I wouldn't change them for anything. I shoot to 800 yards on both.

I also have Leupolds, Swaros, and Vortex. I like the value the Vortex provides. I think the optical quality is on par with the VX-3.

I like the new VX-R and VX-6 series from Leupold. These scopes provide a really nice image.

My Leupolds have held up pretty good. I did see a neat independent test where a guy recoil tested a bunch of scopes, and he was surprised just how much abuse the Vipers could take. I'll see if I can find it.
