Is mounted on your go to rifles?

The calber thread got me thinking about some of the other trusty things that you have to have to make your hunt happen. A scope is certainly one of them.

So let's hear it, what do you have mounted on your favorite rifles and why?

Leupold vx3 4.5x14x40 with B&C reticle. Reason- Great glass that I never have to worry about. It always does it's job as long as I do mine.

Leupold scopes on both rifles are the originals I bought in 1980 and 1983. They both work as good as the day they were bought. VX-II and VX-III I wouldn't have any other scopes. I have never seen the need to change what works.

I too primarily have Leupold VXIII scopes on most of my rifles, and they have never let me down. However, I do have a Nikon 3x12 BDC scope on my .338 because that is what was on it when I bought it, and it too has always worked. Through an odd set of circumstance, I have a Shepard scope on my 30-06, and it is a never fail scope with excellent optics.

I Love my Leupold VX6 3-18 Firedot. I also have a few Vortex Diamondback 3x9. Vortex is less expensive and still crystal clear. God bless

A story about Leupold service..................

My Dad always shot his sporterized 03 Springfield on everything. He got the gun pre WWII. Started out with a Weaver 330 (about the only commercial scope available that he could afford). In the 50's or 60's (don't know the exact date) he put on a Leupold 6x. Shot a lot of deer, antelope and elk (and a couple of moose) with it. In 2002, after I had retired and moved to Colorado, Dad and I were hunting elk. Dad fell and dropped the rifle. He broke the ocular lens and ruined the scope. I bought him a new 3x9 Leupold, but he still like the 6x. I sent the scope back to leupold to see if it could be fixed. It was a pre gold ring and no lifetime warranty applied. Dad got a letter telling him that because of his lifelong use of Leupolds, they would send him any scope he wanted at no cost. Guess what he chose.....yep a 6x. I still have the rifle. Leupold DOES stand behind their product.
