I am in southern Utah and i am looking for a hunt within 5 to 8 hours away that I can buy over the counter.

Trying not to spend too money on it. Less than $400 or $500 for the tag. I will be hunting alone and mostly interested in a mule, whitetail, cous, or elk. I probably prefer to do a gun season, but I could do archery, muzzleloader (I have a saboless 45 bolt 209 Mz that shoots smokeless and bh209 and a CVA wolf 50) and a 7mm wsm. I do not want to hunt prong horn.

I already have a archery utah general bull tag (this should be my first antlered bull, I have 5 on camera (nothing to big) and a mule deer buck muzzleloader in southern Utah.

I am mainly looking in southern Wyoming, Idaho, Arizona. I do not know if I want to head to Colorado. It's quite a drive from the east side utah. I am right on i15. I know I could get a archery otc ar buck tag in the southern part of the state but looking for other options.

A rut deer season would be nice if I could take a small 4x4 with a some work diy/public land hunt.

I am off work dec 1st until the 20th and I would like to spend 5 days to a week.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Nothing open here in December. Used to have a lot of cow tags available for Dec & Jan when the herd sizes were above what the biologists wanted, but those are not available anymore. There are a few December youth hunts for deer & elk, but that's it for SW Colorado.

From what I see your only option for Colorado is Unit 741 but it is a private land only bull elk tag. I see no other left over elk tags in the 4 corners area. Also no deer tags at all. As for general OTC tags, the last season ends in November. Might want to pull up each states big game book and do some research.

Unfortunately, I am not a youth. I probably would not drive to Colorado for a cow hunt, because I should take one elk in Utah and could have bought a Cow tag over the counter here but opted to save my point to hunt with friends next year. I know I can get a Arizona Tag for Archery deer OTC.

Been looking at Wyoming and Idaho's options. Guess I forgot that I am only 30 miles from NV.
