Heading out west for the first time this fall. All kinds of stuff just showed up from Amazon and Cabelas . . . knee pads, emergency kit supplies, water purification stuff, game bags, OnX chip, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, new water bottle, new head lamp, vest, paracord, etc. Also have a good old fashioned map of my unit on order. Still trying to figure out if I can make do with the pack I have - we'll see once I start hiking around the neighborhood with my current pack.

So far all I have done is put a locker into the front end of my 4 wheeler.

I have 99.999% of everything that I need. I guess that happens when you have been hunting for close to 50 years.

Don't have 50 year under my belt, but once you've hunted long enough, and buy quality products there's not many new upgrades.
I did pick up a new pair of Crispi boots.

Budget's been tight, usually I have at least a couple "stupid things". So far I think everything I got will actually be useful:

1. New 64GB SD card for one of the cams,
2. Kindle Paperwhite for some down-time reading (which I used to do the same on my phone, but this'll save the batteries),
3. Primos Gen 3 Tripod Trigger Stick which I've now used on several scouting trips with a spotting scope and totally fallen in love with, and
4. A SUPER cheap spotting scope, seriously one of the $80 ones off Amazon. Yes, it's crappy, but better to have something cheap than nothing expensive.

The tripod shooting stick was the most expensive, I think it was like $140. But seriously, without being a total shill I can't say enough good things. It's much stronger than the Gen 1 so it actually serves as a decent walking stick, and it's fast to change between shooting rest and spotting scope if I'm carrying both. I love how tall and low it can go in a single unit. It's really well designed. And it's surprisingly light considering what it does. To be totally honest I can't shoot offhand for beans, so I'm always finding a tree or something. This lets me shoot anywhere, with confidence. LOVE it.

I bought a new Cabela's lounger cot for my planned 9 day archery elk hunt this fall. I'm trying to improve sleep quality on the mountain so I feel better during the days. My home test run went well the other night- very comfortable. I have also purchased a few smaller items and plan to pick up a little more clothing before the hunt.

And my wife thought I was the only weirdo who tested things out in the comfort of my home before I drug them into the wilderness to find out that I hated them...lol

I got:

Game Bags- 75% off..
Matthews Triax - 0 % off lol
Swarovski 15X56 w tripod adapter- Waiting until August 7th...
