If forced to narrow it down, I'd say I can cover everything on this continent from varmints to brown bear with my AR in 6x45, my custom light weight 6.5 SAUM and my stainless synthetic 8mm Rem Mag. My Benelli SBE II does double duty on waterfowl and turkeys.

My main hunting rifle is a tikka t3 in a 308. I have been using it for whitetails in Minnesota for close to ten years now. Last two years I used it for mullies I'm wyoming. Did good both years at 350 and 215 yards. I am think I should upgrade my western rilfe going to start going after elk soon. Anyone use the 308 for elk?

.308 works great for elk. No need for anything bigger- just shoot a good controlled expansion bullet and you will be fine.

I have covered what I really need I believe. At least for my hunting and such.

Springfield Armory .40 S&W. I have the sub-compact for every day concealed carry.

Remington pump .22 LR

Ruger 1B 6mm Remington 6x42 Leupold on it

Winchester Model 70 .280 AI 4.5-14x40mm Leupold

Ruger 1B 30-06 4x Leupold

Remington 870 Express .12 gauge

1) 22lr. (Sears single shot bolt)
2) 22-250 (Either ruger, savage, or howa)
3) 25-06 (Mountain Rifle configuration)
4) 30-06 (Standard Ruger M77)
5) 338 Win (Standard Ruger M77)
6) 458 Lott (I guess I will stay with Ruger)
7) 12 gauge (Benelli Nova. As much as I love my SBE2, it requires more maintenance than the nova. I had my SBE 2 not cycle correctly below zero temps.)
8) 460 SW ( Either a 4" or 6" barrel. The gun shoot 460 SW, 454 casull, and 45 lc)
9) 10 mm ( Glock G20)

Come on guys where is the 10mm love? The pistols are more for predator defense even though I have seen people use 10mm on elk.
I was going off the constraint of ammo and brass availability. If brass or ammo was not a concern I would replace 25-06 with 6.5x284 norma. I would also replace the 22-250 with 220 swift because 220 swift has a sweet spot in my heart.

Somewhere I would like to add a semi-custom 7mm rum or stw for long range shots.

I mostly archery hunt but when I do pick up a gun I usually have:
Either .45 xd or .40 px4 Storm just in case
Model 70 270wsm
12 ga Remington 870 express magnum
I am currently snooping around for another rifle.....tikka t3 in 7mm?
