So to be serious, my Wyoming hunt plans really have been about as simple as I have stated. We've hunted there many times, and we typically look for and area gentle terrain topo lines with lots of public. I have gotten specific advice twice on antelope hunts, one was on a small section of public on an easy to draw tag, the other was my most recent tag and a bio had been encouraging me to apply for the unit, so I asked where he would focus and we narrowed it to the NW corner of that unit. Other than that we have just shown up and start hunting.
Ever since one of my first Wyoming antelope hunts (around 1984) we have stopped going for the opener. I far prefer to go at least after the second weekend of the season and you have the place to yourself with most hunters tagged out and moving on to deer.
I have learned over the years that antelope are quite territorial. My next hunt will be after the opener (minimal hunting pressure) and include a Phone Skope and a GPS to "inventory" a bunch of bucks with photos and then go back and hunt the best bucks.
