Hey guys, I like reading Wildfowl magazine when I can get my hands on it. Any others you guys suggest that are worth a read? Seems like Wildfowl is about the only one out there really...

This one isn't too bad. I don't have a subscription but have read a couple.

Better yet, lets start one. Guessing we could recruit a few good people on here from different regions and have most of our bases covered with little expense.
Interesting concept. What would you like to see covered topic-wise?

I think more coverage of average budget hunting is needed. Most guys don't have thousands to throw at spreads and equipment but that is the general story line in waterfowl magazines. I think the average reader wants to know how to pull off good hunts with a limited budget. Of course some coverage of the other end of the spectrum is needed but I don't think there is a lot of info out there for the beginner or the average guy that hunts a few weekends a year. Articles on home made decoys, budget blinds, reasonable priced calls that work, etc...

I agree. Maybe talk about various flyway destinations too for the guy that wants to DIY Saskatchewan or California etc. I think a lot of public land in the western states goes unnoticed for waterfowl guys, lot's of walk in opportunity for the guy with a few dekes in a pack.

I grew up on Don's writings, Longbows in the Far North is one of my favorites. I was really disappointed to hear they let him go.

They lost me when they fired Don Thomas. His article at the end was always the highlight of the magazine for me. That and the fact that they seem to market to the wealthy waterfowler. I also dislike the constant articles by Wade Bourne; what a putz.
Agree on all accounts. To be honest, I had kinda forgotten about the Don Thomas deal, as it wasn't nearly as big of news out here. Can't make those big ole weathly boosters mad, In politics, or in magazine writing!
