Hi all
My awesome wife knows how badly I have been wanting, really needing, a new rifle scope for my '06. She offered to buy me one for my first father's day gift.
After some digging, I settled on a 3-9X50 Vortex diamondback because it is affordable and by all accounts I have read, a damn good scope and i like the clarity, etc... Plus it seems Vortex has an excellent warranty and outstanding CS.
The question is; should I ask for the $250 and put it toward an upgrade (like a Leupold VX-II) or should I stick with the original idea and just be happy my wife buys me a scope at all? I guess I would prefer that but I don't want to have her put that money into a scope that I might not ultimately be happy with. That would hurt her feelings and I would feel crappy too.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
PS, even though the VX-II isn't much more, I would consider it an upgrade because its a Leupold and maybe that is an outdated way of looking at optics since there are so many other quality choices.
