This is probably going to be a long and boring story, but I just need to vent a little.
So anyway, I bought a Remington 700 CDL 7mm-08 back in April. I bring it home, throw a scope on it and take it out. The best groups I Could get were 4"@100 didn't matter what I put through it! Factory or reloads. Went through about 30 different reload recipes. So finally, it got the best of me so I called Remington about it. After being on hold for a half an hour I finally got through. The gentleman told me then that there was a recall on the trigger and to send it to them and they would address both issues. So right away I asked him how long it would take, he said about five weeks. On May 5 I sent the gun to them. Last week I call to check on the progress and the guy on the other end tells me "they've checked the barrel and the riflings were cut wrong so they had to put a new barrel on it then it was off to get the recall stuff taken care of. I ask him, how long? He replies, about twelve weeks. I said twelve weeks from May 5 or twelve weeks from now? He said twelve weeks from now. !!!WTF!!@!??? Deer season will be over by then!!! So that conversation ended with me pissed off! When I got home that day I emailed Remington and got no replie. So after stewing on it all week, I called back yesterday. After another 30 minute wait, I got threw. This gentleman tells me that the triggers fixed and that they're gonna put a new barrel and receiver on it and was just waiting for me give the go ahead. ??huh?? That's funny, that totally contradicts what the other guy told me the week before!! I just went off on the guy!! I said how long does that take?? He couldn't give me an answer! I can swap a barrel and receiver out in about five minutes and they cant give me some kind of timeline on long it will be?!!! Just really frusterated with the customer service at Remington. I've got a SPS 700 22-250 that's got the recall on it also. think ill just take my chances with the trigger. Plus I don't think I'll ever buy another Remington again over this deal! Sorry! Just had to vent!!
