Hello all,
Came across this forum searching for any info on the Beaver Unit in Utah. I was beyond lucky & drew the non-res any weapon tag this year(live in MT). Getting ready to take a scouting road trip soon & would greatly appreciate any info on starting points. I have contacted the biologist but have not had any replies yet. Hoping to be able to get away from most other hunters if possible, steep & deep is my preference.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the forum Snowrun.

I have max points and have considered applying for the Beaver unit many many times. The past couple years there has not been enough tags to have a tag go to the max point holder.

There was a big burn in the Beaver a couple years ago, I am sure there will be some good hunting near/in the burn.

Here is a thread I started on the Beaver unit a couple years ago. Maybe it will help give you some leads.

Guys I know Mr. Twardoski through a mutual friend. When he means steep and deep he is not joking. He is the true meaning of Backcountry hunter. Nice Draw Shaun and Im sure you will kill a giant bull.

Hey Everyone,

I have a buddy of mine that has drawn the same tag. I am very familiar with the area. Last year during the Muzzleloader deer hunt we called in like 15 different bulls. As the day went on we ran into a NV hunter that had drawn out for muzzleloader Elk and was hunting the same area. I ended up telling him about our experience with the bulls eariler that morning and went and shot one of the bulls that we had called in. It ended up scoring 370+ with 12-15" broken off. I however don't have a lot of time to get down and scout, so if your interested I could tell you a few places to start and scout if your willing to in return tell me what you find.

I have a friend that hunts down there every year for deer, and he could probably point you in the right direction for elk since they're all over that unit and they see them every year. I'll see if he's willing to talk to you, and if so, can get you his contact info.

Snowrun-
Shoot me your cell phone or email and I'll put you in contact with him. Said he'd love to talk hunting and would share what he knows. I'd be interested to hear what you see on your scouting trip. That is an awesome area by all standards!
