Unit took 9 pp last year and I was happy with the results. A good younger hunter could have easly done better. Evening before season I watched a 190 plus and hunted that deer a half day. On my way home I think I figured out how I missed him. Hr had 9 does and another buck and afternoon I saw the does in the lake. I passed on a high rack just because I dont like that for a trophy. I saw two of those kind of racks, I hope that dont develope in that unit. Not a great lot of deer but six shooters counting some prescouting. I will never get to hunt it again but I had a great hunt. One last thing, private property was very troublesome, much more of it than you might think, and always in the wrong place.

no joke on the private property. We found 1 buck that had just crossed over onto private from public and he hung about 20yds from the border for the last 4 days of season. At that point it was shoot him or eat tag soup.

Is she the blonde woman & her husband from TX (Dumas or Dalhart, can't remember which she said) or is that just who's managing the ranch? I ran into that woman and her husband (still have the ranch card she gave me somewhere w/ contact info) and they had cow elk tags and said they hadn't seen any, but just so happens where we met up with them I had glassed up a herd bedded in some dark timber and pointed them in that direction.
