I drew a Unit 1 early archery tag in AZ this year, It was expected because I had 15 points going into the draw. I pretty much have a starting point for this hunt but still have a couple questions. How do the roads hold up during wet weather and does anyone have a recommendation for meat processing in Show Low or Springerville? I'm planning on bringing a travel trailer to camp in.
The interesting part, I planned to hunt deer in the Monroe unit during the general rifle. My friend and I drew the deer tags and planned to check out the unit. In the meantime he drew an AZ strip tag, with 4 points, so I was on my own to check it out. Yesterday someone from Utah's Div of Wildlife calls and offers me the late rifle bull hunt on the Monroe, somebody gave it up and I was next in line. Does anyone have any info on this hunt? I was hoping to stay in a motel in Richfield for this hunt. I don't really want to bring my trailer from California if I don't have to especially during a late hunt like this. I don't mind driving a 1/2-1 hour each way if I have to. Any info would be greatly appreciated, like what to expect, feasibility of staying in town, processors, atv's, etc.
Thank you,
Tom
