Unit 061-68 mule deer

I hunted the last week of the early season in area 6. I hunted 068, and connected with my buck in 067. We had warmer than normal conditions, but located a few quality bucks. Spotted this buck at 7 AM. and was able to stock within 130 yards of him bedded, and ended the hunt at 1:15 PM. It was a long stalk around 3 mountains to get to him, it seemed like an eternity thinking about what I had seen in the spotting scope! Extremely happy how the hunt turned out. He ended up going 30" at his widest point, did not score him hoping he makes 175"?

Great buck. The bulls are still strong there and I've seen a few good bucks coming out of that area. Weather looks like it's gonna be warm.

The last few bucks I've found during daylight hrs have all been bedded. Even early mornings and late evenings. I would really concentrate on the shaded side of the hills and deep pockets of junipers.
