Two for Two!

It took 11 days in a tent living with snow, wind, rain and 9 days of hunting from dark to dark. we got this elk on the last afternoon of the last day. Jarbidge Wilderness. 5 bulls together. only one decent bull before that. I have never hunted so hard for so long. We started out hunting one drainage over and hiked 3-4 hours to the top every day. I owe it all to my friend who accompanied me to help scout. without him it would not have happened.
We only had the horses to bring the elk out the rest of time we hunted on foot. This was a DIY hunt on public land.

thank you all. for an old prick like me it was sooo satisfying. the good thing was we only saw two other vehicles in 10 days, the sad thing was we watched them hike up the mountain for about 15-30 minutes and then turn back.I'm afraid we have a very sad group of hunters out there that do not know what it is all about. I hope I am am wrong.

Sadly to say I don't think you are. The majority of today's hunters are lazy & spoiled! Some of my friends probably think that about me! I got tired of living out of my backpack, so few years back I bought a good-looking black 50" standard jack. My wife has a couple of big stout foundation bred quarter-horse mares. So I raised some mules, I got couple going good & will start some more next spring. Don't know if I'm getting lazy or wiser? I'm only 37, but I just got tired of being the pack mule!

Nice bull Roger, way to get it done. I feel your pain when it comes to hunt'n bulls in Nevada. In 2011 I spent one week scouting, nine days hunting and three days packing a bull out of the schells on my solo hunt.

Dang sounds like one of my style hunts! Good job. I bowhunted area 111-222 down by Ely in 2007. Eleven day hunt. I also deer hunted near where you are at, area 6, a couple times. Looks like a good bull.
