Trophy Game Draw Results

I got nothing, but I'm still going buffalo hunting since my buddy (who I'm just introducing into hunting) drew a cow tag.

Any good threads on this hunt? What to expect/avoid/look for?

I drew a cow bison too. Should be a fun hunt. Draw odds will probably change next year as word gets out.

No bison for me. Only a 2.6% NR chance for bull. I think the odds actually got worse with the up front money!

100% NR odds for a cow.

Odds were only slightly better this year, and that was a surprise! Fewer applicants, but fewer tags as well.

2013: 1056 applicants, 22 tags = 2.1%

2014: 669 applicants, 18 tags = 2.7%

That really was a substantial drop in applicants from 2013, so you can't really look at the draw odds percentage to get an accurate picture when there was a cut in tags that actually caused the percentage to go up 0.6%

I received my refund today so the rest of you should be getting them shortly. Kinda funny how it takes them 3 weeks to get me the refund when I only live a mile from their headquarters!

It's also kinda funny that the WG&F won't let you cash a WG&F refund check in a WG&F office even if you want to purchase a general tag from the WG&F.
