Trespass Fee Antelope Wyoming-- NO lists

So I have been spending the last few weeks calling offices and asking for trespass fee lists. They do not have Landowner lists with trespass fees. Buffalo had a doe list, Casper had nothing. These are the two that have gotten back to me so far. I am having difficulty nailing down anybody that is still doing trespass fees. I would be willing to go up to $500 each. Once you get to $700-$1000 it is semi guided. Plus it is two or three days. not looking for huge bucks, my son and I each have one preference point each. We have a backup plan, but I don't like hunting in the opening day fray. -- on public ground. I have read a lot on the forum how it is super crowded on the public areas. I have the GPS chip and understand the access etc. Just looking to not compete as much.

I have found a few people that are in the $750 range but again 2 days or maybe three. I realize there is a lot of public ground, I have hunted it all my life in Oregon. I am looking to hunt the animal and minimize the "other hunter" variable as much as possible.

Really not particular on the unit.

Anybody want to throw me some charity and give me someone to call that would be great. The biologists have been very nice and helpful, however they admit some areas are super crowded and the herds are large, but hard to harvest when most are on private ground.

Regular price draw with 1 point gets you on limited access areas. Add $250 and go special and you have some better units to choose from and you saved the other $250 you were going to pay to hunt pvt. I would mark off all the units you can draw in both draws and see what you come up with.

I've been hunting does the last 4 years on multiple public units and people have never been a problem. The first 3 years they were too lazy to get out of the truck and walk 200 yards. This year we never saw another rig off the Interstate and were only 10 miles from Rawlins.

What WapitiBob said x2

Heck even on leftovers in limited access units you can have a good hunt . Go latter and do your homework and you can find areas and antelope all to yourself. The last week is not a bad time to go.

Having just come back from Wyoming hunting both a unit that required 2 PPs for our buck tags and a unit for does with left over tags I say skip paying the trespass fee, too. There is plenty of antelope, we skipped the opening 2 weeks and only saw a couple hunters the whole week we hunted.

Same with us north of Cheyenne the last couple years. In addition to good herds, there were nice bucks on public land this year and they weren't skittish. We were within 150 yds of a couple, couple others within 300.

I just got back from my antelope hunt on Oct. 13. I didn't encounter another antelope hunter all day. The antelope weren't spooky as the bulk of the hunters were done hunting after the first week. It opened in mid September. I looked over a lot of goats and took a 14" buck in the second hour I hunted. I like hunting late in the season and mid-week too, most guys with jobs are weekend hunters.

Just got back from our antelope hunt in Wyoming. Saw one other hunter and son. Plenty of antelope and room to roam. Ended up filling our tags on bucks from 65 to 75 on left-over tags. Only blemish was running into an outfitter who said he owned the BLM land. Just laughed and drove off, what a Jack-wagon!

Where were you Extractor? What antelope area? I've had outfitters and ranchers try the same thing with me, until I educate them.
After which they usually leave, pissed-off!

I just spent about 30 minutes looking at areas that can be drawn with one point- there are a ton of them with good public access. Get on the Wyoming game and fish page that lists all the HMAs and then cross reference drawing odds for the areas. There are 1000s of acres of accessible land that can be hunted for zero dollars. My experience with the HMAs is that if you wait until the second week you generally have the place to your self.

SBE, we were between Buffalo and Casper. I know who the outfitter was but am a little reluctant to name him because he is a neighbor of friends in the area. I don't want to cause them a hassle. It was a minor annoyance but in general a lot of outfitters feel entitled to land that we all posses through our state and federal taxes. Point to be taken is, know where you are and know your rights. Also a good reason to fight for our rights to keep federal land under federal control. Let your congressman and senators know we don't want a sell off of our public lands.

Thanks for the info Extractor, and remember that Jeb Bush has a plan to sell-off public lands or have it controlled by the States. Bad Idea for hunters, recreationists and taxpayers alike.

So true. It's hard to figure out who to support. It's like a barrel of rotten apples and you have to pick one to eat. Blech !!! I wish our government was part-time, then they would have less time to screw up our country.

Our State government in Wyoming is part-time. Yet they still manage to screw-up our State.
