So I bought 3 new stealth cams the G30 and really like them except for one thing. I set them out his summer and went to go and check them every so often and when I walked up to most of them I had 4-500 pics on them, so I was thinking wow lots of deer moving through here. When I viewed them on the computer I had quite a few deer on them but also hundreds of beautiful blades of grass blowing in the wind. So trying to reposition it clear out a little grass but still tons of grass pics. I looked through the manual and was playing with the cam but can't figure how to adjust anything on it. I'm not going to take a weed wacker a go clear a nice little spot to take pics so what's going on or is that just a problem I'm going to have to deal with.

I would bet that if you can't find a sensitivity setting adjustment fairly easy then you can't fix your problem very easily. If you are on multiple burst mode I would consider lowering the number of pics it takes per activation.

I did have it set on a 3 shot burst every 30 sec when motion was sensed, checked my cam again and can't find any sensitivity setting but can do a custom setting and there is a setting with a 1 shot burst 8mp every 30 sec when there is motion. I suppose the 1 shot will eliminate a bunch of pics but I don't think it will fix the grass blowing causing the camera to trigger.

Agreed, you will more than likely still get grass pics but at least 2/3 of them will be eliminated. Only problem now is if a doe comes by with a buck following, chances are you won't get the pic you are after. Personally, I leave my cameras on the highest sensitivity setting on 3 shot burst every 15 seconds and just deal with wading through the pictures. It's better than not getting the pics I have the cameras set up for. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah. That's what I have been doing is just dealing with the extras but yeah hate to miss a few good animals cause on 1 shot. Thanks for the info.

How high off the ground is your camera? I found placing my camera higher and angling it down to the height I want helps with this, but it also depends on the grass. Are we talking waist high?

I am not familiar with the model you spoke of but I find what you described is the difference between the low end and the higher end cameras. Any camera I have tried for less than $125 typically has that issue great scenery pics but very few deer pics. Usually the only way I can fix it is by trying a more expensive camera. Not trying to sell a specific model but that is why the last 8 I have bought all are cuddeback.

I get a bunch from the tree swaying that the camera is on. Put it on one of the mounts away from a tree where wind catches it and it can make it trigger as well.

I always bring a machete and clear out any vegetation in front of the camera that may blow in the wind. If there's just too much grass to deal with, then I guess I would suggest trying a different canera.

Cut your losses now, and dump those stealth cams. I've owned 6 of them, and they were all junk. That's my 2 cents and best of luck if you keep them.

Amazon is still running a deal on the Moultrie 880s. I use those, the Bushnell Trophy cams & Primos. I've had nothing but problems out of the Stealth cams. They've replaced a few of them several times and the replacements had to be replaced with upgraded models and those don't work.

Bought a stealth cam a few years ago, tried it out at the house and returned before ever putting it in the woods. I was not impressed.
I own several moutries and all have been very good.

I've had good luck with the primos truth cams, but nighttime range isn't great. They're just a good camera for the money.
