I have never shot recurve, other that stuff way back when as a scout. You recommend that i start off with a lighter pull before moving up to 50-60? to get the basics down.Have you ever shot a recurve?
It can be eye opening for someone used to a compound. The draw and release is almost all in one. It takes some practice to get onto the target pull and release at the same time, especially if you are drawing a heaver bow. I used a homemade one that came in between 50 and 55 lbs at full draw.
A 50 lb bow isn't too bad for a adult, think about your compound and what the draw weight of it is before the cams roll over. If you can you can even set up a compound to where it is only a 30% let off or perhaps even less.I have never shot recurve, other that stuff way back when as a scout.
