Myself and 3 friends are talking about doing a OTC Colorado Rifle Elk Hunt. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget about some of the limited license units. Some of these can be drawn with 0 PPs. Then if u don't draw you get a PP and you can still fall back on the OTC hunt.

Get a gps with the hunting map download so you no public verses private land boundaries pick a unit with good access and poor over maps. Call the biologists and wardens to see what size animals to expect and how the populations fairing in the areas your looking at.

Shawn,

My best advice is to introduce yourself and tell us maybe a little more about you. We will be able to offer better advice if we understand where you are coming from, time available, experience level...etc. Thanks

I live in Missouri, Myself I have elk hunted in Arizona 3 times and once in Colorado in the early 90s all archery. Very blessed to have harvested a cow last time in Arizona. I am the only one with western hunting experience. Haven't been out west since 1994. Really miss going out there, time to start making new memories. As for time we should be able to do a 7 to 10 day trip.
