Put in for Wyoming general permit again. I don't expext to draw but I'm hoping for the best my luck sucked last year its gotta be better this YEAR!!

Im with you on the Wyo general waiting list. I am back to 0 points so I hope I fall into the 20 percent club and draw a tag on the random. But If not theres always next year.

I'm in the same boat! no pp and wanting to draw a gen tag. If you don't apply there is no chance! Maybe I draw that moose tag Or a Mt goat? Can always hope!!

Max points and hope this is the year! First time applying in the special with a GEN as 2nd choice. It sure is nice knowing by the end of Feb. if you're elk hunting Wyo or not.

It will be interesting to see if the draw is a bit earlier this year since all of the apps had to be submitted on-line. We can always hope they are out by Friday Feb 14! The last few years they have been out between the 18th and the 21st.

I might apply for moose if I don't draw elk I always see some good bulls when we are elk hunting. Its a hard draw though. If not the cows better look out something will get hunted!!!

I should have applied for some tag I had almost no chance of drawing just so I could look forward to the results coming out too! lol

I love the highs and lows of draw season. ALMOST as fun as the hunting. I applaud Wyo and there Elk draw dates and results sure makes it easier to make a plan for the year. Instead of the May/ June rush you get with most of the remaining western states. One year my wife and I drew 9 tags, by the end I was praying to stop seeing the words successful. Ha ha

It is nice to have the draw results spread out and have these results before putting other apps in! Im always trying to stagger hunt dates enough so I could go on all of them if I drew all of them, then end up not drawing any. I find Idaho one of the hardest to work around. Seasons conflict with alot of other hunts, with no points you could draw any time or never the draw, odds are low, but I want to make sure I have the whole season clear in case I do draw. I have decided to apply for ML season in Co so that helps with the season being in mid September. I need another point or two to have a chance at the Wy elk units Im looking at so I been just buying points but opening the envelope and seeing if there is a tag or a refund check in it is always exciting:)

I am also hoping to draw general as a 2nd choice in the special. Not counting on it with all the hype. Glad I will find out the results so early, so I can apply for NM elk and/or deer/antelope again this year if unsuccessful.

***You shouldn't have any problem drawing the General tag in the Special as your second choice. Do you have any particular units picked out yet that you wnat to hunt?

I like your outlook JE. Every time I think drawing a tag is a sure thing I never seem to draw, then I go apply for some tag I think I have no chance of drawing for a few years and it shows up in the mail!

Hey guys...... first post on this site. A buddy and myself put in for a gen. elk tag to hunt elk in Wyoming. If we don't get lucky we plan on putting in for Colorado tags for bow hunting elk. If no luck there we will go OTC in Colorado. And we plan on putting in for a cow tag here in Nebraska. I like the way the deadlines are staggered for these 3 states. Gotta be in elk camp somewhere this fall. Back to my first post comment, just found this site tonite while surfing and it seems to be a good very active site. That's good......... but I probably spend too much time on the PC and not enough time getting other stuff done!!!!
