I sure wish I had a pair of Kenetrek Mountain Extreme 400 this OTC Colorado hunt. My feet were so soar and wet after this rainy, backcountry hunt.

The piece of gear that excites me the most is the Weatherby .257 but I don’t want the gun for myself. I would give it to my son so he would have a gift from his father that he would always remember and a rifle he could call his own. I would teach him how to be a responsible gun owner and how to be an ethical hunter. The rifle would allow us to spend time together hunting as father and son in the great outdoors, enjoying God’s creations, bonding, and making memories to last a lifetime.

I would have liked to have had the Mystery Ranch Marshall Pack on my Wyoming DIY public land antelope hunt in 2014. As a first time DIY public land hunter in the west, I hadn’t put a lot of thought into how I would get an antelope out, potentially over a distance of up to a few miles, if I was successful. Going into the hunt, my solution was to use a sled.

The first day of the hunt was unsuccessful. I saw several small groups of antelope but I wasn’t able to get close enough for a shot.

On the second day of the hunt I tried a new area. At dawn I hiked up to and along a ridge that was the highest elevation in the area. I soon spotted a herd of about 20 antelope but they were approximately 2 miles away. Using the terrain I was able to sneak in close and I shot a nice buck at 125 yards. Then it hit me. I was 3 miles in from the nearest road. I kept asking myself, “How am I going to get this animal out of here?” I called a friend (who also didn’t have a pack) that was hunting a few miles away and he stopped at the truck to get the sled and a bag of ice and then he hiked in to where I was.

Looking back, the sled wasn’t a good choice. My hunting partner and I dragged the antelope in the sled for 3 miles over rolling terrain back to the truck. While I am proud of our drag effort, I don’t want to have to do that again.

The next antelope or deer I shoot on public ground out west will be broken down in the field at the kill site and I will pack out the meat, cape, and horns or antlers on my back. However I will need a pack to do that. The Mystery Ranch Marshall Pack would allow me to do this.

The first picture below is me dragging my buck during the 1st mile of the 3-mile drag. The second picture shows my route for the day, as recorded by my GPS.

Badlands sleep system! I'd take that sleep system to places most people will only ever explore on google earth.
Thanks for the opportunity Eastmans!

The Yeti Cooler Package excites me the most. I'd use it especially for early season archery hunts and antelope hunting to cool the meat down quick and keep it cool!

As a first year hunter its been a steep cost getting geared up. I had to choose between rifle or bow, and being an active duty military member with plenty of trigger time a rifle seemed the best starter choice......but oh how I want to bow hunt.....the Bowtech Experience sure would be awesome! I Dont have any previous hunts to post pictures from, but even if I Dont win its awesome that your doing this giveaway!

I thank you guys for what you do, I too like to give. I have 12 Grandkids and i told them when they turn 10, I would buy them their first shotgun. 9 down and 3 to go. I got them a Beneli 20 guage 3 inch, so now when i go hunting with them its really special, they always say thank you Grandpa for the shotgun. The gerber vital system would be nice maybe i can use it with them.

The Yeti Tundra 65 series cooler alone would have been an amazing upgrade from my styrofoam cooler that holds ice a day (if that) on the 80 degree day I got my black bear! Would of allowed me to stay up in the mountains a couple more days without worrying about the meat! And the hopper and colster would have been a bonus amenity!
