A good friend used to raise a couple of steers to butcher every couple of years. One Sunday I was invited to Sunday dinner with his wife and 5 year old little girl. We sat down to a nice post roast dinner and after a few minutes the little girl looked up at her dad and said "is this Sam?" She had named each of the steers and had played with them quite often, she was even able to ride them, they were that gentle.
I expected a long winded explanation from her dad but he just looked at her and said, "yes this is Sam" She didn't say a word for a few minutes and then she looked up and out of her mouth she said, "Sam taste good!"
