Success in Wyoming Elk unit 40

Having begun the planning for this elk hunt 2 years ago it all came down to one moment on October 15, 2105 in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. Downed this beautiful bull with a 375 yard shot from my Savage 270 shooting a 150 grain Remington Core-Lokt. The bull was shot thru the right shoulder and went 50 yards before piling up. Many in camp were skeptical about using a 270 on elk. Definitely hooked on elk hunting now!!

Congrats on a great bull! I've one shot, one killed 4 elk in the last 3 years with a .270 130 grain, it's like real estate, location, location, location!
