Oregon spring bear draw results are up. I got my Sled Springs-Chesnimnus tag to mentor my son. Time to start making plans. Oh wait, I've been making plans for quite a while already!

That's a fun hunt to have. Hope you guys have a good trip. We usually get a turkey or 2 when we head over there.Oregon spring bear draw results are up. I got my Sled Springs-Chesnimnus tag to mentor my son. Time to start making plans. Oh wait, I've been making plans for quite a while already!
I'll either be in 39 or 43 depending on snow/pressure. It's my first Idaho hunt so I'll be scouting as much as I can over the next few weeks. Not super familiar with that country but always throw my app in, from what I hear there are a lot of bears and in that open country it shouldn't be too hard to find em, good luck I'll be next door in unit 39 for general season

Thanks for the info! It looks like a great area, I'm excited to explore it.Lots of bear in 39, I hunt pretty low so snow won't be a problem in my spot. As far as pressure I've rarely seen the day I didn't have the whole mountain to myself during spring bear

Where I hunt, in Wyoming, there is a good mix of black bears and cinnamon bears. I shot a black one last year, and would love to get a chocolate one.I have shot 3 Blackbears here in Wyoming, I personally baited them myself. Lots of work and lots of food. i havnt did it for about 4 years now, thought i might try again this spring we will see. I cant seem to shoot a " black" blackbear. All of mine are Chocolate brown. Where i hunt there is alot of color phase black bears. Nothing better than spring bear hunting to help get over with wintertime blues!
That is a good hunt. This year, there is tons of snow so don't get frustrated if you don't see too many bears early on. Often you will see more bears in there during the last week of season as the males will be cruising looking for sows. Good luck, be patient behind the glass, find a good location up high where you can see open green hillsides that border dark timber or patches. Lots of bears in that area.Anyone familiar with 32,32A in Idaho?? I drew that unit this year as a NR. Never hunted a bear in my life but am looking forward to spending some quality time in the mtns and chasin around with some buddies.. Anyone have pics or a story of a spot and stalk hunt in these units?? Cant wait to get out there
This spring bear season is still based on the 2015/2016 regulations. If the proposal for extended seasons stuck it will not take effect until next spring(2018)extended bear season in Idaho this year to supposedly, I know it was proposed, did it stick? great year for that with all this snow.
Thanks for the insight!! One of my buddies has mentioned the snow up there this year I'm considering not even hunting until may do you think that's smart thinkin or should I be there early?? I have wheelers and ranger but no tracks and no snowmobiles but I ain't afraid to walk. That is a good hunt.
