Hey guys. This is my first post on here. I'm looking at a west river rifle hunt in South Dakota for the first time. I've made multiple trips to South Dakota for archery. I'd love to go where I bow hunt but I only have 1 preference point and I'm positive I won't draw. Just looking for some pointers on which zones I could draw with one point if at all. I also would consider a whitetail only tag as well. Thanks for your time!

Heard all the deer were dead in sd might as well apply for a jackalope tag.

Introduce yourself and maybe do some more research on the SD website yourself, you seem knowledgeable on SD since you archery hunt. Then maybe come ask a more specific question. No one is gonna spoon feed you!

Definitely wasn't looking to be spoon fed. Just wondering if I could draw a tag with 1 point. I'll just keep doing my homework

I'm pretty sure you can, i seem to draw one over there every other year, but it all depends on the unit also. i hunt private land and only put in for the whitetail only tag. I leave the mule deer alone and let the residents over there hunt them since they don't have as many as we do here in Wyoming and most of them aren't the size i want to shoot. I think you can draw the tag with one point! Go to fish and game website and look at draw statistics and the area you want to hunt. Should be enough info there.
