I had a great time. One of the toughest hunts I have ever done. I saw anywhere from 15-20 bucks, a lot of small ones. Just a handful of deer that would be worthy of runing up and down those mountains to attempt a stalk on. A good number of elk as well. I love the high country!

Thanks for posting the pics - glad to hear you had a fun hunt. That is a tough unit that will test your will and fortitude. How close to you get to the buck in the pic?

He was bedded with another buck about the same size and 2 forkhorns. I was 55 yds from one of the forkhorns while they were all bedded. I waited about 1.5hrs and the wind swirled and they all blew out. Bummer.

Looked like where my buddy was hunting, almost dead on. He said he meet a guy from back east, and he shot for hoyt. O well. Off to CO for my elk hunt.

How does hoytnut know what unit this hunt was in? It's not mentioned anywhere. Beautiful country though. And that is an AWESOME bull!
