So how do you get fired up to go hunt?

I've got a muzzleloader hunt tomorrow - gonna give it a go. Went scouting last week and found the woods flooded but a few deer tracks. Allowed buck or doe, so figure it is time to go hunt.

Just not excited about it - this is a low percentage WMA hunt - 277 hunter days there so far and 8 deer shot. Hoping it will be a pleasant day.

Sometimes we just need to go.

Sometimes it is just nice to be outside.

I did not go - during the hurricane adventures my stuff got separated - finding powder and ML bullets consumed much of yesterday evening. Never did find the bullets I was looking for - molded 75 back in September or so. Stand and boots were ready, blah, blah, blah. Then I noticed the front sight was loose... Never had an issue like that before.

I've noticed that the more I feel like 'is it worth all the trouble' the harder it is to want to come in. After all of all the scents that conjure up fine memories campfire must be near the top.

I've personally never had to "fire myself up" for a hunt. I get excited when I'm scouting. Hope it turns around for ya and you have a great time.

All it takes for me to get fired up for the hunts is to just think about them.

I just finished the Utah deer hunt and am already planning on the one next year. The same with my Arizona javelina hunts, they are just over in February when the planning starts for the following year. It just seams like it is a continuous cycle of planning, and hunting.

I once sat down and figured that there are only a couple of months that I am not either hunting, planning a hunt, or filling out applications. And I think that I have that down to just one month.

Life is too short to not hunt all that you can. I was also one of those kids that could sleep right through Christmas morning. But come hunting season or that first night in deer camp and I'll stay awake all night long.

I'm always fired up to go, I love it. I don't think a day goes by that I don't think about my next hunt or hunting in general. I'm always planning if I'm not hunting. I get depressed if I don't get out in the hills, never the opposite. It's a great addiction!
