It started to cloud up this AM and a storm rolled in right after noon. Been raining here all afternoon with lightning & thunder and about 50 degrees.

It is August and the La Platas got a dusting of snow. Me thinks this is a bit early!

It snowed here in WY in town in July...but based on the current wildfires that surround every bit of this area...snow would be a welcome sight!...except after my highcountry archery hunt is over, cause i have no need for the white stuff on the 1st of september!!

I was checking the radar a couple of days ago and noticed the high country just northeast of you was getting some snow. Pretty cool! Can't wait to get out of this Georgia heat. Although the last two mornings it got down to 69 and it felt cool. Finally had some dry air roll in and push the humid air out for a split second.

Yes have seen some snow already in the Sangre De Cristo's and the Collegiat Peak. All has burned off but it was there.

Some of the best bow hunting I have had has been with snow on the ground. Other than the cold and the wet I loved it when I had my bow in hand.

If the deer wouldnt disappear I would be all for it as well. Nothing like a layer of snow to sneak on! But in this country, if it snows that early decently, the bucks I have relentlessly been scouting will dive into second level living areas, and my scouting will go out the window haha

Definitely feeling a bit like fall here. Up scouting yesterday and some of the choke cherries had a tinge of yellow.

I wish wed get some wet weather over here, big fire just over the hills is keeping me from running up to hunting spot and check things out!! I hope they can get a handle on it
