I have 2 youths that put in.. My oldest daughter is busy w sports and not super into hunting while my youngest will turn 12 this year she is super fired up to hunt. Well I put in and my youngest struck out while my oldest drew a long shot on odds or the hardest tag to draw out of all of em we put in for so we will see but hope she gets out as 3rd season will be between volleyball and basketball. My wife had the tag last year and we let a very young double hook cheater buck get the pass as he had the chance to be an absolute stud. We also were chasing a over 30" wide typical that we did not get so ate the tag... Looking for sheds this year my Boston terrier would not leave a tree so I went aver and it was the double cheater buck.. Lion kill.. Found 3 other bucks in the same area but only carried out the one.

Have to say the youth draw while some folks dont like it is a great way to get kids a tag.. Anyway here is that double hook buck w his perfect white teeth pry was just 3 years old at 4-6 he would have been a stud.

I did not pass on him my wife did :).. We were seeing a great buck and this guy was a skinny youngster in a weird spot late or second to last day in 3rd (no fourth season in the unit) so went all in on the big guy who was a super cool and we already had a young cow elk in the freezer to eat (thanks to my wife) so took the chance. Would pry play it back the same as I guess we got him either way.. Also my Boston is super proud dogs are weird he kinda sees it as "his" buck. It had not been dead all that long and was a gagger caring it out!
