I was swapping out the memory cards on my trail cameras this past weekend and had a thought. Wouldn't it be nice if there was an SD card reader that plugged into my iPhone or connected with it via WiFi or blue tooth?
Just wondering if anyone is aware of any such device/adapter that would allow me to view my trail camera photos on my iPhone while in the field?

I have a Sony Cyber Shot camera. It will take my memory cards from my trail cams. so I can view them in the field. I have two cards for each cam, so I can bring them home and view on my computer. Larger pix sometimes show things not easily seen on the camera, but it works pretty well.
I had one for my iphone 4 and ipad. Tried it out on my last card swap on my new 6 and it says the device is not compatible.
Went down to best buy to ask if they had an sd reader for a 6 and I was told its in the works but not available to the public yet?

Iphone doesn't have the firmware to read the lightning. The process is a convoluted mess even with an ipad from what I have read.
The dane elec unit i posted is wireless and you download their free app. Connect and the app will let you preview, delete, move, all that stuff. A friend just got one. It worked slick. Use the enclosed cable to charge your phone too.
I picked up the Dane-Elec Media Streamer at Walmart for $18.90 last week,. It was priced at $29.95 in the store. I showed the associate the online price of $18.90 on my phone and he price matched it. This unit broadcasts it's own wifi signal out to about 66 feet. Up to 4 devices can access the media streamer at once. You connect to the wifi in "settings" on your phone, like joining any wifi hotspot. You install a free app called MediaStream, available in the app store or through google play for android.
You can stream audiobooks, music, video, or view photos, pretty much anything you can put on an SD card or flash drive. Since it produces it's own wifi signal, no cell service is required. It also doubles as a backup battery for your cell phone. Any phone, tablet, laptop, etc. that can receive wifi can access this unit.
I tested it this weekend with trail camera photos and video. I could access all of it. You can view, save, upload, or download images to and from your phone. I even used it to restore all of my wife's cell phone photos from her old cell phone to her new phone. I can't wait to use this in the field. I can view trail cam photos and video. it will serve as a backup battery for my phone, and be extra memory for audio books or movies on a flash drive or SD card to view or listen to during those long hours in my tree stand. Great invention that I'm very happy with.
I have some SD cards that I couldn't read with my point and shoot camera, and my trail cam videos would never play in the point and shoot camera because they were a different video file format. Now I can view them all in the field on my cell phone!
