MONTANA,

Something doesn't add up here. What caliber and grain bullet weight are you shooting to get those kind of foot pounds at 700 yards?

I guess I didn't see the details. 6.5X47 Lapua with 140 grain bullets? Or are we talking a 30-378 with 165 grain bullets....which may be believable but its going a hell of a lot faster than 3000 FPS at the end of the tube...

Comparing what you have to my 300 WSM it appears to flat out stomp my gun by 908 and 698 for each of my bullet weights at 700 yards......... Which, to be honest, is hard to believe.

It’s the 28 Nosler. I too had the 300 wsm and 7 wsm. Both have been replaced. I did months of research before committing knowing this was a new caliber what that meant in 10 years. But I just couldn’t pass on those figures.
Here are the details:

I have been looking at the N-28 for some time but just can't "pull the trigger"... not yet anyway. :) I know you did a thread on here about your build as I was following it. I'll have to go read it again.

Yeah, Montana and I discussed our custom .28 Noslers with a couple of other folks in a different thread a month or so ago.
That thread was "New Custom Rifle -28 Nosler" … lot's of info in there.
It's a very good caliber.

Never have too many guns. However I’m contemplating whether it’s worth spending a couple $3000 when I’m currently shooting a 7m mag ....

Not all of their rifles are that expensive.
Just like anywhere you can spend as much as you want to spend.
their cheaper rifles still aren’t cheap by no means but the quality is amazing and IMO it’s money well spent.

The 28 Nosler is a pretty awesome caliber.
I had a little apprehension when I bought mine but Fortunately I really do like it’s performance.
I believe you’ll like the performance better than your 7mm ... but maybe not enough to justify that much $$$.
Could you sell your 7mm to help pay the bill?

To quote someone

" Factory rifle is a factory rifle" " Any upgrade from that you will see significant difference in feel, comfort, shoot ability and moa"

Thats why Nosler ( Mountain Carbon) Browning (X bolt Pro).......Im sure others out there are made to fill the market in the 2000-3000$ range

In my opinion. I mean it makes sense and a good business plan. There was always market space there for it.
