Some of you my remember about the problems I've been having with my rt ankle. After surgery last February, which did not go well, I have another surgery scheduled the first week of November to replace my rt. ankle. Last week I had a ct scan which confirmed that my ankle is totally gone. The scan also measures all the dimensional stuff in the ankle and a custom made replacement is made using the data.
Been having lots of problems for the last year. Cortisone shots help a little, but can't do that for long. The surgeon gave me 3 choices: do nothing and live with the pain (and pain killers), fuse the joint and have no mobility or a new joint. Not much trouble picking the option! Should be back on my feet in 4 weeks and then in PT. About 6 months healing. Should put me ready to start gym work by May/June for next fall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes as planned.
