I'm shooting a Remington 30/06 using Remington 150 grain Factory bullet, is that good enough for Cow Elk?

I shoot a .270 with 130 grain factory ammo, and I've killed elk with one shot. So yes, yes it is.

I have killed the majority of my elk with a 7mm Rem mag and 150 Sierra Game King bullet. They work.

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
As same here, both bull and cow elk have been taken in my household by a .270 Winchester and 7mm-08 both shooting 140g accubond bullets. Your 150g factory will take care of business in the boiler room...

If you are already sighted in with these, no need to change. They will work. If you are looking to shop for new bullets, I would recommend 165 grain or 180 grain as these bullets hit more of the sweet spot when considering ballistics and energy. The flight paths of these 3 bullets will be within a few inches of each other through normal hunting ranges. The advantage is the gained energy- for example at 500 yards you gain 100+ foot pounds of energy with the 165 grain or 200+ foot pounds of energy when going from 150 to 180 grain.

Here is a pic although a bad one, of a 150 grain 30-06 Core-Lokt my brother used to take a bull in AZ. It went through behind the shoulder, went through the liver and lodged just under the offside hide.
It's hard to tell but the jacket peeled back about half way and the back half was intact. It will do the job very nicely.
My son used a 150 grain Nosler Partition in .270 to take his bull and it was a complete pass through at just over 400 yards.

Thank You everyone for your input that really helps with my decision, I will go with the 150 grain since I'm sighted in with it and it will work.
Thank You Again

My wife and my daughter each made one shot kills on bulls last year with a 270 Win and 130 g bullets. That said, me and my wife both prefer the 340 WBY and 210 g Noslers.

No doubt it is plenty to take down a cow elk, in fact I took my last cow elk with that exact setup, right through the boilerplate at 180yards. Cow ran uphill 20yards and rolled back down. Use with confidence.
