What's your view on buying a raffle ticket for a big game tag?

I've bought a ticket here and there in the past, for certain states/species.

It certainly would add up if I played all the states with raffles/tags, seems like lately these tickets are getting more $$. For a 1 in 1000 chance at a bighorn sheep or something I'd consider throwing in $10, but I'm starting to think just save my cash and play the points game.

Also some of these states allow a hunter to buy as many tickets as they want...

It would be interesting to see if a person were to buy 1 ticket for every specie/raffle out west, even if just through the official state sponsored tag/raffles, what it would add up to.

It is still a rich mans game with the no limit on number of tickets. But still better than a governers tag in my opinion as there is a lot of money brought in and the average hunter actually has a small chance to win a premium tag

I don't buy too many, but when I do I really look at where the $$$ is going. I usually buy RMEF tickets for hunts, guns, etc and Ducks unlimited. which are usually just guns, etc. I have been buying Wyoming Wildlife tickets every year too. I have won a couple of guns thru the years, but never a hunt.

I usually buy one or two for a couple different species in a couple states just to have my name in the hat. Don't ever get my hopes up about winning but somebody has to win right?

I buy 1 here and there. Someone has to draw! Like CC said it usually depends more on what the money is going to then the tag its self.

I've never bought one, and don't plan to. I am probably already buying too many points than I can spend just on the regular draws. And those are hard enough to draw alone.

One nice thing for me is I got myself into the situation where I am now basically guaranteed at least one premium tag per year through 2019 via preference systems, barring expanded auction tag thefts or outfitter welfare. Sitting with a target on my back. So I really don't need anything a snowball's chance in hell raffle has to offer.
