Hello all,

I am currently an Alaska resident but I am moving to Cody WY in May. I was planning on putting in for a few nonresident tags for this fall in WY as I will not be a resident of any state as far as hunting is concerned by the time the fall comes around. I have been reading through the Wy regs and I was wondering if any nonresident preference points I earn this year in WY will roll over to 2016 when I will be a resident?

Thanks

I was under the impression that there was at least for moose and sheep but I must have misread.

Thank you

There is a point system for sheep and moose for both residents and nonresidents. No other point systems for residents that I am aware of. I would expect your points would roll over but please call Wyoming Game and Fish to confirm.

If you have points for deer, elk and antelope, burn them before you move if possible

It's my understanding that your points stay with you when going from NR-R and R-NR as long as you keep the same sportsman ID number.
