Thanks, to me its all about the hunt. I have brought down my share over the years and you wont find me in a big rush or the first to want to do a stalk. I am to the point in life if someone is hunting with me I would rather see them take a animal. I just want to have a great time as long as I can. Don't get me wrong I would love to take that super record book animal but its just not the first thing that drives me anymore. The journey is just as important now days.

Simply beautiful! You get what hunting is all about.

Today's pics!! The first pic is a area I have hunted in the past, there are always huge rubs in this area. I think some of these trees have been rubbed every year since the early 90s or even before that.

Not far from the location above roughly taken from around 10000 ft. Just great looking country. Very hard to get into and you have to take it easy on the water getting there. One day I am going to Bivey up here and hunt near this location. When we got up here there was a very nice bull around 400yds away with a few cows. We just didn't think we could get it done so late in the day then make the treacherous journey back to camp about 1500 ft straight down the mountain.

My attempt at a artsy photo!!! Ha!! Trying to capture the ruggedness yet the beauty of the simple things when just taking a break between climbs.

Moving along with the trip!! After the first seven days of the hunt we had into town to replace a sight on Josh's Bow. We stayed in town over night regroup a little, and had a good meal etc. This is a pic of the regrouping and getting ready for the second week of the hunt. What a mess!! I would also like to give a huge thank you to the fine folks at Anderson and Platt Outfitters in Dillon Mt for staying open and waiting for us to buy a new sight for Josh's bow. They also opened early 6:30am for us the next day so we could sight his bow in at there 50yd range. If you are ever in Dillon stop by and see them very fine people at this establishment.

On the way back in we stopped and took some photos at a creek. Tried some different exposures with the camera. Its going to take me a while to get this type of photo right!!

And the end of another day in the high country.

Nice pic 25. That may be the nicest elk camp Ive seen...lol. Spent many a day floating the Beaverhead in Dillon. Love it out there. The Buffalo Lodge and Restaurant was a watering hole of mine.

Matthoek21 we stayed at the Best Western for the one night and ate at the Lions Den for dinner. They serve really good steaks.

Looks like that Best Western is pretty nice. I know a bed and shower is a nice perk and "pick me up" halfway through a long trip like yours. Have to try the Lions Den next time I'm over that way. I've had some great steaks in MT.
