**Part 1 - Part 3 Elk Season daily video journal**

Since it has been raining here I thought I would go through some of last years video. This is a little of Archery Elk season. When you are solo its tough to do a bunch of video when you are running around the mountains. Most of the video that was done is more like a daily journal. Just a little something I like to do while I am taking a break. It gives me some motivation for next season.

I had a chance to do Part 3 of my video journal from last years Archery Elk season last night. Starting to get pumped up for 2014!!

Updated part 3 added.

I saw lots of animals but it is so tough to film them when you by yourself and moving all the time. I will have some better footage of Elk and the camp in the next part.

That's awesome man. Thanks for posting these!! I don't watch hunting shows, to be honest I can't even tell you what channel they are on with our provider, direct TV. I would watch something like this however, because I believe an inexperienced western hunter such as myself could actually learn something.

Nice work Mike. It makes me wish I had the skills to compile all my hunting video into a couple streamlined videos. What video editing software are you using?

I know its not professional editing but I enjoy doing some video on all my hunts and fishing trips. They are nice to review before the next season and keep me motivated. One day when I cant do this anymore I will be able to sit back and enjoy the footage whether I killed something or not. It is pretty time consuming but well worth the time. There are lots of good software packages out there. I have been using the Avid/Pinnacle software for years. It is very easy to use and has a bunch of extra features if you wish to use them. On the journal type videos I choose not to add to many transitions or music tracks to the project. You can save your projects so if you cant finish the video in one sitting( I Cant) you can come back to work on it another time. Mark

Working on "Part 3". Got a little side tracked as turkey season starts with youth season this weekend. Trying to find a friends son a willing bird so we can video his hunt.

These next 5 months are going to be really difficult... I can't believe I have gone 7 years without an elk hunt! Thank you so much for these videos... really helps satisfy more than the average youtube elk hunts. I like that you include the thoughts and planning as you are thinking. Its part of the hunt not just watching some guy shoot some animal. Please keep them coming...
