Curious, what shows do you watch on internet?I prefer shows I can watch on the internet but even those guys fall under pressure of social media.
I just recently started watching the Sportsman Channel on DTV and really like Western Hunter and to lesser extend, Sheep Shape. Must DVR them and FF through commercials...
I agree there are too many commercials and too much product placement / in-show advertising. And the hunts on private ranches get old fast (drive around "scouting", spot nice deer from nice warm vehicle, stage a "stalk"...made for television. Blech!)
Agree with hoshour, I have little time for TV with two jobs, blended family (I have two girls, wife has two boys...age ranges from 18-12), and two dogs. About all I watch is Nebraska football on Saturdays (didn't renew season tickets after 10 years
I've come to a stark realization in the past few years (maybe i'm too naive to have noticed this in the past)...pretty much everything in media / television is designed to separate you from your $$$. It's all about commercials, advertising dollars, product placement, celebrity endorsements...sucking you in and getting you to willfully trade your money for their product or service.
And in order to purchase said product, you have to work more or harder, to earn more $$$...which means more time away from the things you love -- family, friends, hunting, fishing, hobbies, etc.
I've grown to hate television. It's a time waster, and a time-sucker, and it's a constant barrage of advertising to attempt to persuade me to purchase something I don't really need. I'd shut off DirecTV if it weren't for 'Skers games.
Okay, rant over...returning you to your regularly scheduled programming...
