Its 'The Buckskin Saddle' with a semi quarter horse tree. I really like the rigging setup that you can use as a full double, 7/8, or 3/4 rigging. I also really like all the rings for tying saddle bags and gear onto. I think it will be a great back country saddle and it seems to be built very well. I was just looking at them with my girlfriend at big R one day (not that I needed another saddle but they are like guns, you can never have tomany!) and I really liked how it was built and fit me. I have always prefered slick seat saddles if they fit me right. NEVER expected her to go back and buy it for me!!! Cant wait to get it on a horse and try it out:)

I know what you mean! I got two wide body safes & a tack barn full! I love my mules & wagons, my wife & kids are the horse freaks. They show and rodeo, my son entered the Fire & Ice series. He will be riding calves every weekend until 2/22/2014. I just hope it does not turn into Bull Riding down the road!

I used to ride almost every day before I moved here and the trainer I rode with moved to to North Dakota. I want to get a team of draft horses someday but I dont have the time for them right now and I need to get rid of some of the horses I have here that arent even mine. I have rodeo'd a little and showed cutting horses. Not gonna claim I was very good at either but I stayed on my horse most of the time;)

Looks good!
Thanks! I got to oil it good and get it broke in. I never had a brand new saddle before! My cutting saddle was almost new but it had been used a little. My others were all used when I got them and one is an old Shipley thats over 100 years old now!

Looks like your legs are as short as mine! New saddles are like new boots, you break your body into the saddle not vice a versa. Only saddle ive owned that was comfy from day 1 was a roohide.

Also, broom sticks work wonders when turning the stirrups out!
Done that trick many times! It works well! Also, Do you know Marvel Murphy? I know she was a 3 time HS All-Around Champ from Reno. Thought you might know her. I watched Rodeo Girls for the first time last week. That show is pathetic! She is the only one I've ever even heard of.

I dont remember her. I didnt socialize much at rodeos. They were my job for the most part. I just team roped and would sit in the stands with pen and paper and note what the steers do when they ran them thru the shoots. My wife actually rode in high school and I never met her. We knew all the same people when paths finally crossed 3 years after high school. She doesnt remember her either. I wonder what year she graduated? I remember jade though.

My legs might even be shorter! LOL I need to take them up another hole and I only got 2 left. I have done the broom stick trick on a few saddles and this one is about to get it. The stirrups move pretty well for it being new. Thought I might have to shorten the fenders some for my short legs but I think they are gonna be ok. I cut 1/2 the fenders off of my roping saddle to free up the stirrups. It was pretty comfortable really, just need to put some miles on it now:)

Torture: Knowing your new (to you anyways) gun and an AR lower are sitting at your FFL dealer and not being able to pick it up for another week because your waiting for another gun to come in so you can do the FFL transfers all together because your to cheap to pay for 3 transfers. 2: Getting to see your new gun and Lower when you are having FFL dealer sent FFL for third gun and not being able to take them home because of reasons mentioned above. ;)

I just got home from the fire and ice bull riding series. My son Pake is 7, he became inelgible for muttin bustin this year. He wanted to ride calves, so I took him. Put the helmet & vest on him, the calves were +400# & bucked! He had a qualifying ride, 6 seconds. He landed on his back knock the air out of him. I figured his calf riding career was over for sure. He told me "Dad I want back on again. I'm going to ride him to death". Oh boy, guess I'll be tied up every weekend until Feb 22nd!

Good times! Ive been to a few clinics but never took it serious, I would ride far past the buzzer! Dont fear the bull, fear the ground!
