On the way up Geiger grade by my house, there is 2 lanes coming from the roundabout. And it shrinks to 1 going through at the light where toll road is. Me, my mom and my dad have all raced people to the light so they can't pass. It gets kinda sketchy when your doing like 60 in a 45. But it's fun to then slow down going up. Lol

I'm from Scott valley. Logged a few years up and down the i-5 corridor. My old man is still a log truck owner operator. Most those guys are proud of their rides and have them pumped including pops

Yeah man! I studied forestry in college and had a job all lined up to cruise timber when the spotted owl thing hit the woods. It shut all the jobs down. Guys were shot at and logs were spiked...definitely wild times!

A couple days ago I saw a 3 log load, I was shocked. I haven't seen a big tree like that on a truck in a very long time!

Going to start seeing a lot of it, it will spike when hurricanes hit the coasts. Insurance has started dictating size lumber used on pier & beam beach houses..saw mills are wanting 40' logs with 24" centers & there's a wee bit of a shortage in the Gulf & East Coast.

Bummer for all of those mills that got rid of the tooling to run big logs. Who new it would come back around.

We just don't have the timber around here for it anymore. When I left Temple Inland a few years back there was only 1 mill around to actually sell those saw logs to.

I saw one this week coming down Hwy 88. The rumor is that this is going to be a good year for logging...lots of work lined up with several of the the big companies getting good contracts. Hope so!

That's pretty crazy. I haven't seen a three log come down 88 since the powerpole fire and I was shocked to see one then also. I used to see them all the time as a kid around here.
