I raced my Jeep at the sand drags last weekend and won 1st place in both classes. Also had my best ET 4.96 seconds at 59 mph in 100 yards. Not bad for a street driven CJ5 !
Finally working on my fixer upper house! I bought it pretty cheap a few years back with the idea of fixing it up and selling or renting it but them my parents had alot of health problems and havent had the time of money to work on it till now. It needs alot of work but I can fix it up fairly cheap by doing all of it myself. I bought it from a contractor that needed money bad. He had finished about 2/3 of the foundation before I bought it. Got the rest of it jacked up today. Hoping to finish the foundation in the next few weeks and get the roof and outside done over the summer. Then I can work on the inside this winter. Im leaning towards renting it now. Its on 2 1/2 lots and I bought it for the low end of the value of the property without the house on it. I can build another house on it someday if I want too.
that sounds like a fair amount of work MM. By the way, I've been through your town a few times. I have a cousin that lives in Potlatch Id. I imagine you do a little bit of hunitng in Idaho??
Its going to be alot of work but if it didnt need work I wouldnt of been able to buy it. Idaho is my back pocket hunt if all else fails. Hunted deer in the panhandle 3 years ago. Didnt get a deer but had alot of fun and saw some nice elk, mountain goats and moose. Been planning on going back with a general elk tag but havent had time. Think I might go fishing this year alteast. There is some neat country up there! Got really lucky and drew unit 42 deer last year!
Hope I draw that tag again someday! Maybe I'll get lucky and draw an elk of antelope tag down there this year. So far this year I have had no luck at all drawing so maybe Im saving it for Idaho although Im fairly convinced I used all my luck up last year. lol.
If I get lucky you will be one of the first to know! I did a late muzzy hunt in Oregon right accross the border back in '05. That hunt releys a lot on snow in Idaho, well it was 60 degrees out that year. I was having a very tough time finding bucks, talked to some guys who were hunting in Idaho at the same time that were passing 24-26" bucks every day looking for a 30"er. I've been wanting to hunt unit 42 every since then.
The NR odds are pretty low for anything in that area but someone has to draw the few tags there are! You will probably want to throw big rocks at me after this but last year when I drew 42 was the first time I ever applied for it. That is why I figure I used up my luck for the next 10 years lol. Did you apply for anything other then deer? I started applying for deer elk and antelope all in 40 and 42 last year. Think this is my 4th year of applying for elk and antelope.
No rock throwing here. I have wanted to draw since '05, but have never applied till this year. Hopefully I will be like you and get it the first time! Not likely, but you never know. I did not apply for elk or antelope, I knew I was going to draw antelope in Oregon and I wasn't sure my back can't handle and out of state elk hunt at the time of applying.
I thought you had been applying since 05. lol With no points you could draw every tag you ever apply for or never draw. I have applied for 2 deer tags in Idaho and drawn both times but have never drawn anything else. I put in for all 3 and get a wolf tag since it doesnt cost much more and you have to buy the license anyways. The odds are pretty low for the elk and antelope too but you never know!
