Musket Man seemed to be a big driver here, he's been out of action for quite some time. I've had some good laughs one here, learned a few things too. My new job keeps me more occupied than my old one, I sure like being busy at work rather than bored to death waiting to see what MM is going to post next.

I had another crank laying around and a little die grinder action at the bottom of # 5 fixed it up. It has low oil pressure, likely the crank was a little worn. Didn't want to dump a bunch of money into it till I drove it, it drives like a new truck. I will likely put a new engine in it this winter, till then I will just keep it close to home and eagle eye the oil pressure.

Boy this forum has really slowed down! Where has everyone gone????
I've been thinking the same thing for the past 4-6 months. Not even many 1-timers registering to 'fish' for hunt coordinates.
I spend most of my time on this forum, but when I look around the net, activity is down everywhere. However, Eastmans seems to have taken the biggest hit, IMHO.
I enjoy the folks here and have made a lot of great friends.

Good to hear from you CC.
I check the site 1st thing in the morning while drinking my coffee and getting the office up-and-running before heading out.

I think message board / forums are declining because of a shift in population (younger hunters), and the trend towards social media (Twitter and SnapChat).

My nephew (18 years old) and his buddies are rabid waterfowlers, but they ever talk about message boards or forums. They are always taking about posting pictures and video on Twitter.

I think older hunters are fading away...and younger hunters just don't care for the message board world.

The other thing that could also be affecting it is the economy. More people are going to work and getting busier with there jobs or businesses. Thats taking away more of there free time to be on the forums

Hey, I've been working 12+ hour days all this week. See me giving up on posting? Nope, LOL!
I was coming back from SD on Monday night on HWY 16 into Newcastle and about 1.5 miles on the SD side as I round the corner with a 1 ton dually Chevy, load to the max doing a bit over the post speed limit there stands a cow and calf elk in my lane. Way to close to stop, luckily nobody is in the east bound lane so is swerve south in to that lane, and just as I commit, another cow comes running up out of the ditch from the south. Just as she gets her front hooves onto the white line she slips and lands straight on her side, maybe 50' before I got to her. If she hadn't slipped and fell, it would have been elk burger all over the road. The next night I came back through there right before dark and the cow and calf were off the road a little ways just hanging out. Didn't see any dead ones so they must have got their butts off the road.20171031_173616.jpg
