This is a hell of a sign to put up in front of a gun show. You should have seen the line of zero people stopped at it unloading their concealed guns. It seemed like no one at it had herd of I-594 either. 2 more guns that didnt have their backgrounds checked. So far the last gun I got that didnt have its background checked has behaved itself very well so I put these 2 with it hoping it will be a good influence and keep them out of trouble.

Happens a lot. Wonder if it isn't insurance forcing it? Liability is ridiculous for events.

So were they searching people? Asking?

Sounds like a horrible idea to have a bunch of CCW people upholstering and clearing weapons in the lobby of an event center.

The gun show I went to in Idaho 2 weeks ago didnt have that sign up. The one yesterday in Washington did. The same people put both of them on. No they were not asking or checking anyone and no i did not unload mine either!

According to the laws passed last year in this state walking out of the gun show with 2 guns and not getting a background check is not legal either. But obviously no one is enforcing it. The "felony gun rallys" they have had in this state against the laws where law enforcement joined the rallys and said no one would be prosecuted set the precedent for not enforcing it.

You can disregard private property requests in SD? Most states say the owner has the final word.
Correct. If they become aware you are armed and ask you to leave you must do so immediately. The sign makes no difference. Schools and Federal buildings are of course off limits.

In Minnesota, you must leave when requested to by the property "owner", you do not actually commit a charge-able offense just by ignoring the sign. I would continue to carry concealed where signed, especially in a mall or theater. Plan on major legal problems if you were ever to use the firearm, so it is a good idea to carry insurance specific to that defense. DO NOT ignore the sign at schools and Federal buildings as was previously stated. I worked federal court security for five years after I retired as a police officer. Those guys are armed and well trained, and other than avoiding a fed. bldg. that has a big Ryder truck parked in front, it is probably one of the safest places to be.

A lot depends on the state and county where the event is held. Here we allow CC and our gun show insurance does not specifically prohibit it. We also do background checks on every firearm sold at the show. Several local dealers set up to do these for our show. They charge $10.00. Everyone that has passed the check has a special colored zip tie on the gun (s) they buy and are checked at the door as they leave. Works well for us.

I dont know if the sign was the state or the Spokane county fairgrounds. It was the first time I have seen it there. Either way they were not asking or checking anyone. I have an 03 FFL and I could have bought both guns with it without a background check. This was the first Washington gun show I have been too since the new laws.

Yep, all seems a bit silly to me anyhow. Only criminals and crazies are going to purposely hurt people. Notice I left out stupid? No fixin that.

Hunting season is officially over this year. Started in January. Ended this week. 4 deer hunts, 3 antelope, elk scouting and a couple sheep. (Along with scouting for all) and my truck said "I'm done" broken motor mount, rear main seal, steering box blown, all shocks donzo, timing chain gasket, and 3 missing suspension bolts. Time to hang up the pack and grab the tool box 😔.

Sounds like a full-time job you got ahead of you on the truck

Finally getting to do some reloading for my old guns! Loaded some 45-70's with Pyrodex for my 1873 Springfield trapdoor and some 30-40 Krag for my 1898 Krag. I have only tested a couple rounds in each yet. Still have a 303 Savage, 6.5x55, 32 Rem and BP 10 and 12 gauge to work up loads for.
