That is one thing about Texas that I do not miss although they did make doing stream ecology a little more exciting!!

I think it was in the upper 40's the day I about put my hand on one. Probably why I didn't get bitten. It was moving slow so I killed it with a stick and threw it in a washout.

I'll bet they are everywhere in TX when it hits 70 degrees!

I am not sure what type of cover is on the spotter..

I got the cover when I got the scope and it came straight from Zeiss I believe I can look if you would like but I have had it for at least 5 or more years now.

I can't think of 1 month out of the yr where we don't hit 70s a few days in a row. Usually the front end of Winter they'll hit water to slow metabolism and the back end they think it's time to go.

Thank you. It's a good way to kill time. Used to ride around with a rifle and shoot coyotes/hogs and other random things that didn't belong in the pastures, now that my kiddo wants to go I just take the camera. (If I'm in the truck it's a different story, but hard to keep ear muffs on him on a 4wheeler). Here's some other pics without critters.

Nice! Those are awesome snowmen-a-lopes. We didn't get any of that stuff to stick, but it was good moisture.

I found some old brass for one of his old rifles and wanted to know if he wanted it. Unfortunately its sold now!

Why does everybody use the words antlers and horns interchangeably?

Regional culture thing. Down here, it's very easy to pick out the transplants bc they'll use terms like, antlers, crayfish/crawdads, bluegill, bowfin, brook/crick/stream, cats-sup, etc.

I work in southern Utah a lot, and I don't think anyone there knows the difference between the two.
