I can't believe he was stupid enough to post that vid.
Anyone know if he was busted for it.
Maybe there is more to the story but sure looks like he has some explaining to do.

I don't know, saw it and thought the guy on the sled instigated the situation. I run into that same situation all the time during calving situation and can't ever remember thinking I needed to shoot one of our cows.

***Too bad that cow didn't have a chance and it wasn't attacking when he shot it and before that was just defending itself in a bad situation where it had nowhere to go. I don't know if authorities could trace that video to the maker, but if they can they should and he should be prosecuted and lose that handgun as a part of the penalty for being a complete jackass for the shooting and even more for posting it on the net!!!

I have run into quite a few moose while hunting and have never felt threatened by them. Even about ran into some in the dark once coming back to camp, literally under 20' away and Im not sure who jumped farther me or the moose but they didnt come after me.

We also dont know what happened before that to provoke that moose.

I have no idea how many moose that I've run into up here, but it's quite a few. I have had very few incidents that were dangerous that I didn't cause by my own poor judgment. That was a narrow trail that snow-machiner and moose were on but the guy had other options than shooting it.

I would need more of the story to decide whether or not to cite the guy but it sure looks like he made some real bad decisions leading up to this. It should be investigated.

I did have one cow moose that really got in my face where I honestly might have shot it, had I been armed at the time. I can only suspect that she had a calf somewhere in the woods behind me that I was unaware of, that, or she was just in a really bad mood. She approached me in a wide open area from about 150 yards away with her ears down and hackles up. I'm still unsure why she targeted me but it's by the grace of God that she didn't stomp the tar out of me. But she was one of thousands I've been around.

I hope that guy is investigated and I would not be surprised if he was charged with some crime.

Only time I've had one mess with me was bc she had a calf stashed along a creek I was riding down. She made sure I cleared the area. Once I got to high ground and she left me alone I started picking the brush apart with binocs trying to find that calf for a distant photo-op.

I am pretty sure they can get the poster pretty easy.
Who's to say the guy on the sled is the guy who pulled the trigger........ but I suspect there will be some investigation.

I doubt the guy was a hunter.
I have only been within 200 yards of a moose a half dozen times and I know by reputation alone not to provoke one. Those damn things are just mean and it sure looks like he pushed the issue, then pushed it again.

Kind of reminds me a little of a heard of 25 cow elk, a stupid 25 year old, a F-150 with high beams and a continuous horn.
$2000 in damage, elk snot on my windshield, a set of hoof marks on my hood, and no grill later; I learned a valuable lesson!!!!!
........Lucky they left me with one head light to get home.

My feelings exactly! Idiot doesn't deserve to carry pistol. He must be proud of it to put it on web.

Any of you NV guys have any opinion on the late end of sept antelope hunt in 41,42? Im mostly wondering why they have it a few weeks later then other units. Seems like a better time to hunt from my experience in WY and would be cooler then the aug/sept seasons but I dont know much about NV antelope. Thanks!
