I have a ton of Gore-Tex gear but have never restored the DWR. Do was my garments with Nixwax Techwash.

Going to get some Nixwax TX Direct...should I opt for the wash-in, or spray-on? Or another product all together.

Have Cabela's MT050 rainwear, Cabela's Systems parka (cordura), Cabela's guide wear nylon, and North Face parka.

Thoughts? Thanks, D.

I really like the wash in, it did change the texture of my clothes though, made them much softer. I’m pleased with the results

I have the cabelas alaskan guide coat with dryplus membrane. Stupid thing leaks in the arm. I contacted Cabelas today about it and they are sending me some of this product. They lady said it should take care of my issue and help restore the dryplus membrane. I am skeptical on how this will restore a membrane, but interested in the results. I will post the results once I get it in the mail.

You may have a failed seam, or a hole in the DryPlus membrane. Even a pinhole will leak water through. Researching I learned the DWR treatment keeps water from penetrating the outer layer of the garment...and provides a level of waterproofness to any garment. The Gore/DryPlus membrane serves as a second barrier.

Once the DWR wears off, the outer layer gets saturated with water and lays against the membrane...and it often feels "wet" against your skin. And when the outer layer gets saturated and lays against the membrane, it inhibits breath-ability...and causes your sweat to get caught, also making you feel wet.

And that is why my old gore-tex sometimes feels wet in a heavy rain.

If the product doesn't work, send that jacket back to Cabela's. Their "lifetime" guarantee on Cabela's branded products should cover you.

Keep me posted please.
