I have been visiting the site a while and thought I would finally join and say hello. I started backpack hunting 3 years ago and was instantly hooked. I was able to take my first Texas mule deer 2 years ago after packing in 7 miles on public land. It was an unforgettable experience and I realize I have been missing out for too many years. I want to learn more about western style hunting and have enjoyed this site a ton. I'm having shoulder surgery tomorrow so I have ruled out an out of state hunt this season but plan on putting in next year for several states. If I don't draw I will plan on going OTC to explore and enjoy the scenery. This year my goal is to get well and hopefully get a WT and MD in Texas. Good luck to everyone this year!
