Hi my name is Paul. I live in the big city of Oakland Oregon. I've been on the forum for about a year but have made very few posts. I mostly rifle hunt but in 2015 will concentrate on archery. I live for the backcountry hunts. I have hunted elk in Colorado and have been buying points for sheep/moose in Wyoming. My son is almost 4 and loves to shoot. Everyday he talks more and more about hunting and fishing with dad. We have 3 horses which are my wife's passion. I ride the "husband safe" models. She has taught me a lot about them and I actually enjoy what little time I spend with them. I like to fish also. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Like I said I'm really new to the forum so any tips about forum etiquette is much appreciated. Everyone have a great day.

Welcome…I'm just south of you up the North Umpqua.

How many points to do you have for sheep and moose in Wyoming. There's a lot of guys buying points there who are in no-man's land and will never draw in their lifetimes.

Thanks for the welcome. It's a small world you know. My mom works for the post office over in Fernley. Speaking of the husband safe models we just got back from a horse camping trip and the horse my wife brought beat up the horse trailer pretty good. Did the same thing to his eye also. Definitely not a husband safe model at this point. Pretty sure I saw a story from you in the Hunting Journal a couple years ago. I don't have any experience hunting mulies. Drew a tag this year for eastern Oregon. Really looking forward to hunting some new country. Have a good one.

Oregon Jim. Thanks for the welcome. I don't spend much time over on the coast but have a couple good friends who live over yonder. All parts do Douglas County are great in my book.

Musket Man, thanks for the welcome. I appreciate it. I have a brother who lives up in Ione. Ever spend any time up in that country?

I am from mid willamette valley. I love a nice drive up and over Hwy 58. Welcome, and I look forward to hearing some blacktail stories from your neck of the woods.

Umpqua Hunter thanks for the welcome. I've only been buying points for a couple years. After looking at the MRS I thought it was possible to draw a moose or sheep tag in 10-15 years. Maybe I'm way off base. Any info you would be open to sharing is much appreciated. Thanks.

Marcusdvk thanks for the welcome. Good to know there's a few Oregon guys on here. Thanks. Do you mainly stick to hunting in Michigan or do you do any out of state hunts?

2nasty4u thanks for the welcome. My son will be 4 in September and today he caught his first fish. First one all by himself that is. That's a proud moment. I can't wait till he's nine and can hunt in our mentored youth program. You mostly hunt in ND?

Whitehorse unit. Thanks for the welcome. I hunted antelope in that unit back in '08. I've heard there's not a lot of deer in that unit but when you find one it's usually a good one. It used to take about 4 points to draw that unit but now it's about every other year. I will spend the first four days of the season over there and then head to Colorado with a 1st season either sex tag for elk. You draw any tags here in Oregon?
